It was built as a manor house by Sir John de Broughton in 1306. In 1377 this house was sold to Bishop of Winchester, William of Wykeham and after that it has remained in same family.
Since Broughton Castle is private property it is owned by Lord and Lady Saye and Sele. It is located in the village vicinity one can feel the peace and calm environment once you enter the premises.

Entry to Castle is Free however only Paying Visitors are allowed to have Picnic in Park. For the year 2019, The Castle, Garden and Tearoom are open from 2 pm to 5 pm. Last admission is 4.30 pm.
